- How to use a sewing machine safely and effectively
- Winding bobbins, threading, and mastering stitch types
- Understanding stitch length, width, and tension
- Using different presser feet and cutting fabric accurately
- Sewing perfect straight lines, smooth curves, and corners
- Three different seam types and when to use them
- Taking up hems (by machine and by hand)
- Making buttonholes and inserting zips
- Sewing machine maintenance and care
- Mending skills: repairing tears, split seams, sewing on buttons
