Trouser-Fitting Masterclass
A premium, expert‑led fitting experience for trousers that truly fit.
Trouser‑fitting is one of the most challenging areas of dressmaking — and one of the most transformative when you finally get it right. This exclusive, small‑group masterclass is designed to give you the personalised support, technical insight, and expert guidance needed to create trousers that fit your body beautifully.
With only four places available, every participant receives individual fitting time, detailed feedback, and hands‑on support throughout the day. This is a rare opportunity to work closely with a specialist and finally understand how to achieve a comfortable, flattering, and reliable trouser fit.
⭐ What makes this workshop different?
Alongside the in‑studio teaching, every student receives exclusive access to a comprehensive 23‑page Trouser Fitting Guide created specifically for this course. It includes:
- essential body measurements
- how to take them accurately
- diagrams and explanations
- common trouser‑fitting problems
- how to diagnose issues
- how to correct them on your pattern
This guide is yours to keep and refer back to, giving you long‑term value far beyond the workshop itself.
Common problems of Trouser-fitting
Sewists often encounter a range of fitting problems when it comes to trousers: gaping waists, tight or loose fit around the hips, uneven hemlines, ‘whiskering’ or discomfort in the crotch area. Whether you have a fuller abdomen, curvier hips, rounded or flat buttocks, or struggle with waist gaping or tightness, we’ll guide you through the process of fitting trousers that complement your body shape. This masterclass focuses on using a toile (a mock-up garment) to identify and resolve fitting issues.
Working with your toile, you will learn the essential techniques for adjusting patterns and making modifications, including:
- Creating the perfect waist-to-hip ratio
- Adjusting for full abdomens or curvy hips
- Fixing gaping or tight waistbands
- Achieving a balanced rise and crotch fit
- Ensuring smooth and flattering lines from the waistband to the hem
