Sewing is an ideal creative activity for children. It develops their manual dexterity, hand/eye co-ordination, and encourages focus and concentration. Plus it gives them a huge sense of achievement and self-worth. And it's such great fun, they won't realise they're learning a valuable life-skill.
All equipment and materials are provided, including sewing machines. In all the childrens' sewing classes, numbers are limited so each child receive lots of attention and can be carefully supervised.
Children must be able to place their feet flat on the floor when sitting in a chair that's 45cm off the floor. If they cannot, then they will not be able to operate the sewing machine safely and for their own safety, will not be able to take the class.
If you're considering purchasing a machine for yourself or your child, then I recommend Pembertons, the specialist sewing machine dealer.
