Cannot recommend highly enough
I have participated in a number of sewing and textile art courses run by Jen. I started 4 years ago with a beginners sewing course followed by an improvers sewing course. I completed a beginners dressmaking course and much to my astonishment managed to successfully sew a skirt! My main interest is however in the textile art workshops Jen has run – mostly pre Covid times but I am delighted to read in the most recent newsletter that she will be offering more textile art courses this year. I highly recommend the free motion embroidery workshop. For experienced – and not so experienced sewers – it offers a new skill to add to the sewing skills toolbox – like drawing with a sewing machine! I’ve already signed up to the print, collage, stitch workshop in May and was delighted to read in the newsletter that there will be a couple of textile art courses in the summer school programme this year – am particularly interested in the print, stitch, quilt course.
Jen is a very skilled and knowledgeable teacher – of sewing, dressmaking and all things textile art. She puts even the most inept aspiring sewer (me) at ease, instills confidence, has a wealth of practical tips up her sleeve and is always calm and reassuring. She is not just an excellent teacher, she has a range of examples of her own sewing and amazing textile art on display in the workshop.

Superb course and now feel confident to move forward with my new skill
I did the Free Motion Embroidery course with Jen today at Artisan Stitch. I’d been looking forward to this and it didn’t disappoint.
Extremely well structured course and done at just the right pace. Machines were provided along with every colour of thread imaginable!
I loved the whole thing and if I wasn’t out all day tomorrow, I’d be on my own sewing machine doing more of what I did today. Fabulous. Well worth the money.

Dress Making
I so enjoyed being back at Jen’s dress making classes after a short break. Although I had continued sewing I had made rather a few mistakes and had a list of queries. Jen makes learning so straight forward and logical, her knowledge of sewing knows no bounds and I’m just delighted to learn a little each week.

Fantastic, fun workshop
Attended this on 23rd February with my granddaughter, who is a student in Scotland. I’ve tried free motion work before but never been successful with it. Jen,the tutor was brilliant, explained all the details of free motion embroidery very clearly. I had a fantastic day. Thank you Jen for introducing me to a new facet to my sewing world, looking forward to my next project !!

Great introductory course
Decided it was time to overcome my totally irrational fear of using my sewing machine and Jen’s course was perfect to help me build confidence in lots of basic sewing techniques and in using my machine. Not nearly as scary as I thought and given me the bug to keep trying new projects.
