Course description

Owl toys are easy sewing projects for children aged 8-12. And they are fun to do. They are made from small amounts of fabric, felt and buttons, and offer lots of opportunities for to develop kids craft skills.

Who is this aimed at?

Children must already have done an introductory sewing class to learn how to use a sewing machine. Ideally they will have completed the Kids Sewing Course Level 1 or the Kids Introductory Sewing Class, and be confident using a machine.

What will my child learn?

  • cutting fabrics using a pattern,
  • further sewing practice
  • working with felt
  • sewing on buttons
  • how to stuff soft toys

Sewing is an ideal creative activity for children.  It develops their manual dexterity, hand/eye co-ordination, and encourages focus and concentration. Plus it gives them a huge sense of achievement and self-worth.
